Interested in Skin Needling?

Skin Needling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT, is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of the skin's texture, tone and colour.

Our Beauty Therapists use an Eclipse MicroPen to create controlled micro-injuries (via micro needles) to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin.

The needles penetrate at a depth that stimulates skin renewal and collagen production for smoother, firmer and younger looking skin.  In combination with the needling, a hyaluronic serum delivers a super hydrating complex into the dermal layers of the skin.  Following this a potent advanced technology growth factor serum may also be adminstered to accelerate the renewal process.

Skin needling is great for all skin types, however is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, nor for people with active acne.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING SKIN NEEDLING TREATMENT

A numbing cream will be applied to the face 20 minutes prior to treatment.  The Micropen is moved (passed) swiftly across the various "vectors" of your face and a hyalauronic serum is injected into the minute holes that have been created.  After the needling, a growth factor may also be gently applied to the skin. This procedure takes approximately 30 minutes for a full face.

WHAT TO EXPECT POST SKIN NEEDLING TREATMENT

After treatment your skin will be "flushed", with a similar appearance to moderate sunburn.  You may also experience a feeling of "tightness", these effects generally diminish after a few hours.  Some patients may remain flushed for 24 hours, depending on the depth of the needle delivery and the number of overlapping passes performed.   On day 3 you may experience a light peel, after which the skin will feel fresh and plump.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?

Patients notice an immediate "glow" to their skin and visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several weeks.  We recommended you have 3 treatments, spaced approx 4 weeks apart depending on skin condition.
